Iota Gamma Chapter

Chapter History

In the summer of 2002, Carmen Rodriguez contacted Expansions of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc, to inquire information about the expansion process. In September of 2002, the first steps towards expanding into San Diego State University were taken by Carmen Rodriguez, Karina Maravilla, and Minerva Gonzalez.
On June 18th of 2002, San Diego State University recognized the interest group as a sorority.

On July 8, 2004, Illuminacion Eterna was born and five founders crossed:
Nallely "Lustre" Saldana
Carmen "Foreleza" Rodriguez
Cindy "Persephone" Cosio
Karina "Adorable" Maravilla
​ Minerva "Audaz" Gonzalez

​

Later that same year on October 10, 2004, the second group of associate members were inducted into San Diego State University Colony. On January 4, 2005, the Iota Gamma Chapter was established at SDSU. On January 19th, the five founders were initiated into the sorority. On April 17, 2005, Alpha Line crossed and Alma Infinita was born and was initiated into the Iota Gamma Chapter.
